Annabel
Wilson

A brief biography

Annabel Wilson creates wonderful pictures and images of the natural world, flowers, plants, seed heads and landscapes in shibori stitch resist. She is always developing new designs and patterns exploring new ways of putting shibori stitch techniques together. She loves teaching others how to create with shibori in workshops and on her prolific blog.

Annabel strives to give a balance of information and friendly encouragement. She is patient and helpful and enjoys passing on her expertise in all things shibori. This course is suitable for anyone who has a love of sewing.

She enjoys using natural plant dyes particularly indigo along with fibre reactive dyes. She has been captured on film in “Escape to the Country” for the BBC showing her dyeing and work processes.

Annabel is based in Dorset, a beautiful county, where she takes great pleasure in cycling around the lanes and villages looking for inspiration for her work.  As Townhill Studio she creates vibrant textile designs using the stitch resist of shibori. They are made in to wonderful glowing lampshades and wall hangings and can be seen in galleries in the South West and online.
